The muscles of the knight are defined such that the light catches different parts of the face and neck with different angles. The other pieces? Sleek, well defined. The rook has a generous torso and is well balanced. Nothing matches the excelling detail of this magnificent set. The photography is good but it’s too difficult to catch the real beauty of the set with a two dimensional photo, or indeed, with these inadequate words. A set to pass on to the next generation.
