Once again we have a beautiful example of a set that is just a perfect blend of staunton and a clever bit of imagination. Isn’t this great? The Concentric is a twist on the traditional Staunton style to produce chess men that are solidly different than general sets of chess pieces available. The King stands 3.5 inches high. Each piece is dominated by the design of the concentric ball in the middle of the piece – they are quite unique. And I love the expression on the knight’s face. Very chiseled and looking very focused. The quality of the manufacture is also very good with the carving of the piece sections very intricate leaving a robust rustic appearance. The board for this set of chess pieces should have 1.5 inch squares.
